Share site information early

The delivery address is the beginning of a site brief. A receiving window, a usable contact number and a description of access help explain how the final handover is expected to work. Provide this information when you request the movement, especially when a site is new or unfamiliar.

Explain vehicle access

Describe the entrance to use and any limits that may affect access. Mention restricted height, limited turning room, a narrow driveway or a shared loading area where relevant. If there are site-specific arrival instructions, send them ahead of the delivery. Clear photographs can help explain a layout that is difficult to describe in an email.

Agree the unloading arrangement

Tell the team what will be receiving the freight and what unloading equipment is available. Include relevant cargo dimensions and weights so the arrangement can be discussed against the actual load. Do not assume a standard vehicle or a particular handling method will suit every consignment. Any additional handling requirements should be raised before the job is agreed.

Connect the right people

Nominate a site contact who understands the expected delivery, receiving hours and agreed arrangement. If another person will be present on the day, pass on those details and explain the handover. For freight coming out of storage, ensure the instructions identify the correct goods and destination.

Keep changes visible

If the receiving window, address, access or cargo details change, advise the team promptly. A delivery discussion depends on the details provided, so changed circumstances may require the arrangement to be reviewed. Nova provides last mile delivery across South East Queensland; contact us with the actual site and freight details to discuss your movement.
